Humans:

Catfolk
These feline humanoids can be found almost anywhere. They are some of the best and most prolific sailors of all the races. They have an immense variation to their fur color. From mimicking the great cats like lions, tigers, jaguars, and snow leopards, to domestic cat patterns like tabby and calico. To add to the great complexity, many catfolk dye or alter their fur into unique patterns or unusual colors.
Halflings:
Halflings in the world have settled for the most part on the island of Haven. However, they can be found all over the continent.
Gnomes:
Gnomes live in the tropical land of Zaria Zavar. This land is also home to several types of dinosaur. As such, gnomes make use of dinosaur mounts and beasts of burden.
Dwarves:
Hailing from a towering chain of vulcanic mountains, these stoic people excel at the creation of forged goods. Dwarves can be found all along the major trade roads seeking food for their expanding population.
Kur'gen (Half-orc):
A mix of human and orcish blood. In the borderlands, this mixed race people is called the Kur'gen. They often have Kur'gen parentage as well. Many people of the borderlands embark on a journey of adulthood called "Koreth-go'than." This has lead Kur'gen to be a common occurrence in the southern lands.
Elves:
These fair folk are not originally from this continent. A few elven generations ago they fled a great evil which had captured their homeland. Very few know of this flight. Elves have a new "homeland" called Illisiyn. They are also quite common and have many cities in Vondaria. Many prefer the more temperate climate of Vondaria, as it matches more closely the land the elves lost.
Elves are currently disliked or hated in parts of the Sondarkan Empire.
Half-Elves:
A mix of human and elven blood. Most half elves live in Vondaria, but due to their inherited wanderlust, can be found in many areas. A half-elf is currently the reigning king in Vondaria.
Uncommon Races:
Grippli:
These frog-like people inhabit a small island chain off the coast of Zaria Zavar. They trade with the gnomes for the most part. A few of the more well learned members of society know of the Grippli people. Outside of their homelands and Zaria Zavar, they can be found in Freeport. Lately, a strange blight has taken hold on the island.
Orcs:
The orcs of the borderlands have tempered their ancestral rage and live a much more civilized life. Many still roam in clans, but these clans no longer pillage and loot with abandon. These orcs often use their might to keep their beloved borderlands safe from monsters to the east, and evil humans to the west. (Orcs of this world are not inherently evil. Some are, but most tend towards neutrality). Orcs no longer have any problem being in sunlight.
Kobolds:
These distant offshoots of dragonkind are prolific and often considered to be vermin or pests. In the Borderlands and in Ankara they have a place in society. There are four different subraces of kobold which make better adventurers than the standard kobold.
Rare Races:
Planetouched:
Aasimars, tieflings, undines, ifrits, oreads, and undeans can be found in Novaya. With ifrits being the most plentiful.
Wild Elves/Feral Elves:
These feral elves rarely venture from their forested homeland. They are more aloof than their cousins. They are slow to trust, but once it is earned, they are with you thick and thin. These elves are sturdier than other elves and more adept at feats of perception and remaining hidden.

- Bloodscale Kobolds - selectively bred for generations (with magical meddling) by a red dragon to be gladiators
- Forest Kobolds - a mix breed of regular and bloodscale kobolds
- Brightscale Kobolds - blessed by bahamut, shiny shapeshifters on a mission to thwart evil
