Wild elves are those who joined the huntress as she fled wounded from her fight with the great evil dragon.
Wild elf society is arranged by clan and by totem. You are born into your mother’s clan. At adolescence you declare your totem and join your totem’s house. The totems are Lymus (wolf, coyote, hyena, fox), Si’ir (cats, lynx, leopard, etc), Resali (Bear), Kanvin (eagles, owls, hawks), Ssithra (snake, viper, etc), Ahlyn (weasel, stoat, badger), Maithen (spiders). There may also be other smaller societies for different animals, especially for any groups of wild elves living in different areas). Physical Description: The elves who followed the huntress across the ocean came from all over the elven continent and from all walks of life. Wilf elf skin tone ranges from a pale pink to a deep ebony, but tends towards tan to light brown tones. Wild elf eyes are often golden or green, but can be blue, grey, violet, or brown. Heterochromia (two different colored eyes) is more common in wild elves than other races. Wild elf hair can range widely in color and texture, from fine silver hair to thick dark hair. Hair dying and tattoos are very popular in wild elf culture. Wild elves are much hardier than other elves, but still as agile and nimble. They are as tall or taller than humans. Their weight is between humans and other elves. Wild elf height and weight is unrelated to gender. Wild elf ears are elongated and pointed like their elven cousins. Society: Wild elves are arranged into multiple different clans of individuals. Some are nomadic, but most have defined territories. A wild elf belongs to the clan of their mother. However, within each clan is a society that follows a totem animal. While your clan is chosen for you through birth, you choose your own totem animal. You will be welcome within your society in any clan lands that you travel to. Wild elves are more focused on survival than minute social machinations. Some clans are ruled by a single member, others have a council. Relations: Wild elves are fairly isolationistic. Still nursing wounds from hundreds of years ago. They have focused more on survival than mingling. They have some interaction with catfolk sailors along the coast, and the occasional orcish tribe who trades with them. They send scouts to assess their neighbors, but stay mostly to themselves. They are most friendly towards the Borderlands and the wild roaming orc tribes. They distrust Perugia due to their apparent friendliness towards dragons. They find Kavala to be strange and their way of thinking odd. Alignment and Religion: Wild elves are sometimes chaotic good, but many tend towards neutrality. The huntress is widely revered. Although Corellon (elven), Cayden Cailen (revelry), Desna (dreams), Calistria (lust), Gorum (battle), and Gozreh (nature) have some attention. |
