Humans can be found almost anywhere on the continent of Nim’thar. They come as varied in looks as they do in attitude and personality. Humans control many of the countries in Nim’thar. Their reach, power, and influence is not one to be taken lightly. Their life span is shorter than many of the other races. But they have fierce drive and determination. They also reproduce at a more rapid rate than the longer lived elves and dwarves.
Appearance:
Humans vary widely in height, weight, stature, build, and coloration. They can range from 5 feet tall to well over 6 feet. They can be scrawny, muscular, or quite plump. They have two arms and two legs.
Skin Tone can range from pale and milky to the deepest darkest brown. Tanned to olive color skin is one of the most wide-spread colorations of humans. Humans lack any spots or stripes, but can be found with moles or freckles.
Hair color ranges as well, sometimes being quite different than their skin tone. Pale silvery blonde to a blue black, with innumerable shades of brown between and even red and copper colors as well.
Love and Relationships:
Humans have different societal norms and customs for relationships based on the area they're living in. In some societies, marriages are important and many times are arranged by the parents. In others, people never marry. The average human will marry someone of the opposite gender and have children together with the children taking on the family name of the father.
The acceptance of multiple partners and partners of the same gender varies based on economic power and society. In some places like Sondacia, marrying or having relations with non-humans is very frowned upon. In Tuvalu, powerful men and women often have several concubines. In Novaya powerful men often have many wives and concubines.
History:
Some scholars pursuing the histories believe that humans are not native to this continent at all. They believe humans arrived here either through exploration, or by being brought by another race or races over a thousand years ago. Some hunters of the past have found numerous strange serpentine artifacts in the jungle.
Despite their origins, humans are one of the dominant races in Nim’thar. In lands they don’t control, humans are generally still an important part of the fabric of the society. The only place that a human is not likely to tread is inside the great volcanic mountain range of the dwarves, “Mountain Home.”
Religion:
Often religious to a fanatic-like state, humans pay homage to one or more of the general deities. Some pursue one god exclusively, others pay homage to the deity related to whatever their task is or what is going on in their life. The primary deity is often related to the popular deities in a region or country.
Names:
Human names are varied. Particularly by nationality. Humans generally have a first and last or family name. Some names have meaning, others simply sound nice or are descriptive of the person wielding it. Last names may be family professions, occupations, or denoting clan or parentage.
